Skills/Experience

I have experience with a wide range of field and laboratory techniques, including intertidal surveying, plankton towing, epibenthic trawling, offshore grab sampling, stomach content analysis, sieving, fine sorting, and the identification of fish, benthic infauna, and epifauna.

I've worked with field instruments including drop-still and video cameras, Sediment Profile Imagers, and a variety of grabs, trawls, and dredges.

My IT skills include proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, the OpenOffice suite, MapInfo GIS, and statistical software packages such as PRIMER

I am capable and confident researching and writing scientific reports and comprehensive non-technical summaries of complex issues.  I enjoy using my communication skills and experience while interacting with our clients and the public on complex marine biological topics through formal and informal presentations. I often oversee Benthic Science projects in the lab and field and enjoy my roles in project management and delegation. Time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines, budgets, and targets are often an important part of my work.
