What we do

We provide primary or subcontractor field, analytical, design, and consulting services to help your project. As subcontractors we can help your company capture more contracts without the overheads of providing your own labs, specialists, and technicians for benthic and invertebrate community resource consent projects or independent research questions. Our researchers also work as independent quality control and assurance consultants for techs at other institutions.

  • Marine benthic environmental impact assessments; analyses and reporting
  • Resource consent consulting
  • Port operations including dredging, dredge spoil disposal, and reclamation
  • Marine soft-sediment biosecurity
  • Mariculture assessments and biomonitoring programmes
  • Habitat mapping and remote benthic photography
  • Custom design and manufacture of marine science instrumentation or quantification protocols
  • Original non-commercial research
  • Marine education

  • Macrofaunal identifications
It doesn't matter where in the world you are. We'll travel to help you collect samples reliably and then ship them to our lab to take advantage of relative economies in budget-concious times. We specialise in polychaetes, but provide taxonomic or parataxonomic work on other groups as the project dictates. [Details]
